BIGGER IN
TEXAS
Story
T
exas LNG is a mid scale, US-based LNG export project
with start-up scheduled for 2020. It has an initial
capacity of 2 million tpy, with permits applied to
eventually double this to a total of 4 million tpy. The project
is focused on low cost, low risk delivery of LNG under flexible
tolling agreements. Texas LNG is an independent entrepreneurial
venture with financial support from a large financial fund,
world class technical and commercial partners, and a focus
on providing jobs and benefits to the Rio Grande valley
communities of Brownsville and Port Isabel.
Global LNG markets have dramatically changed over the
past few years. Long-term, inflexible commercial agreements
and projects dominated by large players are evolving to a more
efficient, commoditised model promoted by entrepreneurs and
other non-traditional players.
