n a changing energy landscape, renewable energy is seeing

increasingly accelerated growth. As coal falls back, natural gas has

the potential to become the largest single fuel in the global energy

mix over the coming decades until eventually eclipsed by renewables.

The natural gas and LNG industry needs to improve its performance

in transitioning low carbon economies in order to retain its social

licence to operate as a vital low emission fossil fuel which can play

a key role in both replacing higher emissions fuels such as coal, and

also providing essential stability to power grids with high intermittent

renewable penetration. The industry needs to actively pursue more

with combined cycle heat integration can increase

plant efficiency and reduce carbon emissions while

remaining cost-competitive.
