WE Tech receives order

from UECC regarding its

new LNG PCTC

W

E Tech Solutions has received a repeat order from

Jiangnan Shipyard Group Co. Ltd, China to deliver

its ‘Solution Four: Efficient Power Distribution’ for the

third new generation pure car/truck carrier (PCTC) vessel

of United European Car Carriers (UECC).

The repeat order comes after WE Tech contracted

Jiangnan Shipyard Group Co., Ltd, China, to deliver the

same solution to a series of two PCTC vessels for UECC

in 2019.

The tailored WE Tech Solution Four will place

UECC’s new vessels beyond the International Maritime

Organization’s (IMO) target for a 40% reduction in

carbon intensity by 2030. They will also meet the

IMO Tier 3 NOx emissions limitations entering into force

in the Baltic and North Sea from 2021 keel lays.

“We take this repeat order as shipowner and

shipyard’s acknowledgement of our reliable and

highly environmental-sustainable solutions”, says

Martin Andtfolk, Sales Manager of WE Tech Solutions.

“The efficient power distribution solution together with

[the energy storage system (ESS)] will make vessel

electric power generation even more efficient and

cost-effective.”

Novatek reaches natural gas

production milestone

P

ao Novatek has announced that it has reached a

milestone of 1 trillion m³ in cumulative natural

gas production since commencing its natural gas field

development program.

The company commenced producing natural gas at its

East-Tarkosalinskoye field with the launch of the first gas

treatment unit in 1998. Subsequently, the company started

developing deeper gas condensate bearing layers that

required the application of new state-of-the-art technologies,

including drilling large diameter, long horizontal wells

with multi-stage fracturing. The combination of natural gas

produced from subsidiary companies and joint ventures has

steadily increased over the past few years, and, with the

successful launch of its flagship Yamal LNG project in 2017,

Novatek has transformed from providing natural gas to the

Russian domestic market to a global LNG player.

“Today, Novatek is one of the largest natural gas

producers globally. Reaching cumulative natural gas

volume of 1 trillion m³ is a significant milestone for the

company, and we are very proud of what we achieved since

the company’s foundation. We have built a natural gas

platform both domestically and now internationally with our

Yamal LNG project that is one of the most cost-competitive

in the industry,” noted Leonid Mikhelson, Novatek’s Chairman

of the Management Board.
