FSRU Toscana
commenced commercial activity at the end of 2013, and is one of the main gas supply projects in Italy. The
terminal has a regasification capacity of 3.75 billion m
3
/yr, which is enough to serve approximately 4% of the country’s annual
gas requirement.
The terminal has been designed to handle a minimum continuous LNG throughput of 10 tph and a maximum throughput of 450 tph,
based on the nominal composition of the LNG. Therefore,
FSRU Toscana
has an approximate send-out of between 0.3 million m
3
/d and
15 million m
3
/d of natural gas, which is injected into the national transportation grid.
The terminal is equipped with aWobbe Index Corrector module, which allows it to receive LNG with a wide quality range, i.e. with a
Wobbe Index between 47.31 MJ/m
3
and 53 MJ/m
3
.
The terminal is capable of receiving 90% of the current LNG carrier fleet, with a cargo capacity in the range of 65 000 m
3
up to
approximately 180 000 m
3
(New Panamax Class). Each LNG carrier is subjected to a detailed technical compatibility process and, once
FSRU Toscana
