INPEX is preparing the Abadi LNG project for
development in the Abadi gas field in the Masela Block in the
Arafura Sea. INPEX expects the field to contain sufficient
reserves to support the production of 7.5 million tpy of LNG
over a period of more than 20 years, as well as 24 000 bbl/d
of condensate.
Through sustainably growing its oil and gas development
business, INPEX aims to become a top class international oil
and gas exploration and production company following the
majors by the early 2020s.

obe Steel Ltd (Kobelco) is a world leading
manufacturer of process gas compressors and has
significant experience supplying boil-off gas (BOG)
compressors for LNG receiving terminals, including floating
storage and regasification units (FSRU). In addition, Kobelco
recently entered into the BOG compressor market on LNG
carriers.
Kobelco provides all three major types of gas
compressors – rotary screw, reciprocating and centrifugal. As
a result, the company can propose the best compressor
solution for various applications. For example, in the LNG
carrier market, BOG compressors for XDF engines that require
17 bar are suitable for rotary screw design due to its easy
capacity control and low maintenance cost. On the other
hand, BOG compressors for MEGI engines that require
300 bar are suitable for reciprocating design due to its high
pressure capability and high efficiency.
Furthermore, Kobelco provides heat exchangers for LNG
service as well. It is one of the world’s largest suppliers of
diffusion-bonded compact heat exchangers (DCHE) for LNG
BOG re-liquefaction facilities and LNG vaporisers in receiving
terminals.

ikkiso Cryo Inc. (NCI), located in North Las Vegas,
Nevada, US, is a leading supplier of cryogenic
submerged electric motor pumps used in the
liquefied gas industry.
NCI’s innovative designs have resulted in the first
application of high pressure pumps for use on regasification
LNG carriers, the first and only cryogenic pumps installed on
an LNG GBS, compact high flow pumps for the world’s
largest floating production storage and offloading (FPSO)
vessel under construction, as well as compact, higher speed
pumps used for a variety of LNG, LPG and other applications.
NCI’s original technologies have led to an increase in
reliability. Its submerged motor cryogenic pumps operate for
up to 40 000 hr before maintenance is required.
Nikkiso Cryo has recently acquired the JC Carter
cryogenic pump company and is proud to be able to provide
aftermarket services and parts for all existing JC Carter pump
users. The technology developed by JC Carter is being
merged with the Nikkiso Cryo design and will result in an
advanced design that not only provides high reliability but
high efficiency and low pumpdown capabilities.
