espite the difficult economic environment in the oil and gas
industry, floating LNG (FLNG) facilities are being designed and
constructed with a view to increase the efficient development
and transportation of natural gas. The advantages of LNG are numerous.
However, this technology brings challenges not only to the designers, but
also to the suppliers of the base materials. This article considers some
aspects of seamless stainless steel tube manufacturing for a recent FLNG
project.
